Wallsend Community Preschool is very proudly a Community Based Non Profit Children’s Service. We are run on a non-profit basis by a voluntary management parent committee.

There are no owners or shareholders requiring a financial return on investment. 100% of all grants and fees paid to the service are spent directly on the running of the service. Any surplus monies are directed back into the ongoing and continual improvement of the preschool. 

The distinguishing features of a community owned children’s service are:

• Empowerment: a genuine sharing of power between service users and service providers.
• Inclusion: we work to respond to the needs of all children and families.
• Integration: we have a responsibility towards the families and community in which we are located and liaise with other community service providers.
